Quazii Plater Nameplates Profile

P.S. If you are looking for my WoW Classic Plater, it’s here. It’s the same look as my Dragonflight Plater profile below.

The below Dragonflight Season 3 Plater nameplates profile is entirely FREE to use.

I will be really thankful if you can help me get to 100,00 YouTube subscribers by subscribing to my YouTube channel for free. We are almost there!

Note: This Plater is updated frequently. Changelog is found all the way at the bottom. Also some of you might want to only export NPC colors or castbar colors, and keep your existing profile (especially if you made visuals modifications on your own) – I cover this FAQ at the end.

Step #1 (Optional, Only if you want audio cues): As explained in the video below launching this Dragonflight Season 2 Plater profile, if you like to have audio announcements for ‘Frontal’ to dodge frontal abilities and ‘CC’ for non-interruptable spells that you need to stop with a crowd control, you need to download these two addons – (1) SharedMedia (2) SharedMedia_Causese. If audio cues are not important to you, you can skip to Step #2.

Step #2 (Compulsory): Make sure to install the Plater addon first (link). Next, copy the string from my Plater Profile (link here). Then paste the string into your Plater ‘Import Profile’ window. If you are having any difficulties importing the string into the Plater addon, you can watch the following video, where I show step-by-step how to bring up your plater window to import the profile.

Interrupt Mod (Optional): Some of you requested for a Plater ‘mod’ that shows on the mob’s castbar whether your own interrupt is ready to be used or on cooldown. This mod outlines the mob’s castbar with a Green outline if your interrupt is available. There will be no Green outline when your interrupt is unavailable. Get the import string for this interrupt mod here. You can preview how this optional mod looks at the 3:25 mark of the video below.

Separately the video also goes through some FAQ such as:

  • How to customize the color of individual mobs
  • How to change the color of certain abilities’ castbar, as well as audio cues
  • How to remove frontal arrows from castbar if you don’t like it
  • How to import only the NPC Colors or Cast Colors to be integrated into your own Plater profile

Important Note #1: Disable other conflicting nameplate addons, or else you would encounter errors when you import the Plater profile. For example, if you have ElvUI nameplates enabled, disable them first.

The Plater profile below is optimized for Dragonflight Mythic+, please see the subsequent sections for more details.

UPDATE FOR AFFLICTED AFFIX IN SEASON 2 (31 May 2023): Blizzard has decided to introduce Afflicted friendly mobs that you need some special Plater configuration to see them properly. I’ve summarized instructions in a video here – credit to Zing for the idea to fix.

Color-Coded For Caster Mobs

I have made it a point to color-code all the mobs in Dragonflight Mythic+ dungeons that requires interrupt assignments. You can see that these mobs are are color-coded pink, so you can easily call interrupts on the fly.

Per my explanation in the video above, you can easily color your own mobs via a dropdown menu. Or, alternatively you can use this 1-button macro from this pastebin – it’s a one button macro to assign colors, you can see how it works in my original Nameplate video for Season 1.

Important Interrupts Flagged

Important interrupts are also made a lot more visible via a way thicker cast-bar in the picture above.

Non-Interruptible Casts To Stop With Crowd Control & Audio Alert

Interrupts that are non-interruptible via normal interrupts (see ‘Rotten Bile’ cast in picture above), BUT must be stopped via crowd control is now flagged in a purple castbar. There is also an audio cue that says “CC” when the casts starts (which stands for crowd control).

Color-Coded For Dangerous Frontals & Audio Alerts

All mobs that do a frontal are color-coded in light blue, and their specific cast are color-coded in an orange-red castbar to signify DANGER. You will also have an audio cue that says “FRONT” when the casts starts.

Color-Coded For Aggro

I have also color-coded the nameplates to track aggro as a tank. Light blue implies you currently have aggro on them as a tank. Red means you have lost aggro on the mob (and by the way, this overwrites the ‘pink’ caster color-coding – if you do not have aggro on the casters).

Explosives Helper & Glow

Explosives nameplate are made to have a ‘glow’ effect around the border of the nameplates. This allows for easier targeting of the explosives.

Abbreviated Names

All mob names are abbreviated to only show only their last name, which makes it a lot easier to identify mobs. Example, you can easily tell the mobs apart via ‘Warrior’ vs ‘ Thundercloud’ vs ‘Ryvati’ above.

FAQ: How Do I Export ONLY Your NPC and Castbar Colors

Some of you have edited my Plater profile to suit your own visual needs or preferences. If you want to keep your own look, but still update the NPC colors and Castbar colors with each update of mine, you can do so. Follow the following steps:

1/ Load up Quazii’s latest profile first
2/ Go to the NPC Colors tab, in your plater settings. Click on ‘Export’ and paste into notepad
3/ Go to Cast Colors tab, in your plater settings. Click on ‘Export’ and paste into notepad
4/ Load your own Plater profile
5/ Go to NPC Colors tab, Click on ‘Import’ and paste in the string on your notepad you saved earlier from Step 2
6/ Go to Cast Colors tab, Click on ‘Import’ and paste in the string on your notepad you saved earlier from Step 3
